The Dinghy Dock Bar & Restaurant is located in the Captain Oliver facility at Oyster Bay Marina. I heard of this bar while watching a show called “Three Sheets” with Zane Lamprey several years ago. This video is available on Hulu.  Check out Three Sheets St. Maarten.  We were staying at the Oyster Bay Resort on the other side of the bay so we thought we would try it out on the way back from Orient Beach. We arrived at 3:30p.m. and were informed they just started their prime season hours where they open at 8:00 a.m. in the morning. We had stopped earlier in the week before 3:00p.m. and they weren’t open yet. We were too early for their Happy Hour which runs from 5:00p.m. to 7:00 p.m. where they have $2 Heineken, Carib and Presidente’s and pour your own wells for $3. They give you the bottle and allow you to pour your own mixed drink. The bartender said most people actually pour less than the bar would typically pour so they must do OK with this deal. They also have $1 off premium wells. We just ordered beer and I had my first craft beer for the week. I ordered a Harpoon IPA. I took a picture of the available beers shown above and they also have Heineken on draft. I think if someone opened a craft beer bar on the island especially in the Phillipsburg area to cater to the cruise ships they would do all right. They were making up a “corn hole” bean bag toss game while we were enjoying our beer. The marina also has a ferry to St. Barth’s so the Dinghy Dock bar is a good spot to have a drink before getting on the ferry. We saw several people doing this at the bars/restaurants at Captain Olivers. For more info go to: http://www.captainolivers.com/.
