The Bell Inn – Nottingham, England

We traveled to Nottingham for the wedding of our friends Rachael and Pokey.  They own a local British pub in Tampa and were traveling back to their home area for a wedding just after Christmas.  We took the train from the St. Pancras station in London to Nottingham which was about 1.5hrs.  Our friend Pokey’s mates took him out for a pub crawl the night before the wedding so we got to visit some of the best pubs in Nottingham.  The first stop was The Bell Inn which claims to be the oldest pub in town dating back to 1437.  Their website also says they were the Greene King’s National Pub Of The Year 2013.   The pub also has some caves and they also offer cave tours but we didn’t get a chance to check them out.  I had the Abbott Ale which was a typical English Ale and very good.  We were off to the next stop after enjoying two pints and the warmth of the indoors of this great pub.  Check out their website for more info: http://www.bellinnnottingham.co.uk/
