I was in San Diego this week for a conference and stayed downtown at the Best Western Plus Bayside Inn on Ash/India. I always try to find some breweries within walking distance from my hotel and found Ballast Point’s Tasting Room & Kitchen Restaurant in Little Italy. This was only about a 15 minute walk from the hotel and is right on India on the north side of Little Italy. The tasting room was great and they had several beers on draft that I haven’t had before which was great. I sat at the bar and enjoyed several 4oz tasters. They give you a proper glass and the glass has the 4oz pour noted on the side so it is nicer than drinking out of a small 4oz taster. Plus, it is harder for the bartenders to hit the mark so most of my pours were slightly above the mark. I have noted the tasting list below with pricing.

They do have food here too. I just got a snack (chips/guacamole/salsa) so I can’t vouch for the food but from what I saw on other peoples plates, it looked really good. They also have a very nice outside area. It was too cool when I was there to check it out and too dark for any good photos but I think this would be a great spot on a nice day. Ballast Point has other tasting rooms in the San Diego area and I think their Miramar might be their main tasting room.
