The new Yeoman’s Cask & Lion just opened downtown Tampa in June of this year. It is about a half mile from Amalie arena so I think they are hoping to compete with Ferg’s for the hockey and concert crowds. I think they are also in a good spot for the new Jeff Vinik expansion of downtown. We had stopped into Yeoman’s about a month ago on a SUN just for a couple beers on the way to Ybor and noticed they had a nice food menu. We visited on a FRI just before the end of happy hour (which I think starts at 3:00) so I enjoyed a $5 Jai Alai draft and then switched to my new Tampa favorite, Coppertail Free Dive. I was there with my wife and daughter so we just ordered some appetizers. We had the potato chip nachos which were fabulous, wings with coconut curry and the prime minister shrimp. We were outside at the bar but the inside is gorgeous. Great British theme of course with great art. I wish this place was a closer walk away from our place because I could see myself hanging out here. They have 20 draft beers on draft and a broad selection.
