We drove from Oyster Bay Resort to Grand Case and arrived about 10:00 a.m. Grand Case is on the French side and the Grand Case area has shopping and restaurants along with a nice beach. I would suggest arriving a little later (like 11:00 a.m.) because there weren’t too many restaurants and shops open. We originally were going to stop at LOVE to just get a coffee and croissant but after checking out their menu, we decided to have an early lunch. We started with spicy bloody Mary’s which were spectacular and we enjoyed these while watching the waves crash into the beach. Marnie ordered a ham and cheese on a baguette and I ordered a croquet monsieur with goat cheese and prosciutto. This really hit the spot. Again, not a beer bar but was a great spot for some French sandwiches, great bloody Mary and as tradition with Europeans, were given a nice shot of rum when we received our check. They also rent rooms and from their website photos, the place looks very nice. If you are ever in St. Maarten, check out Grand Case and stop in to the LOVE Hotel/Tapas bar for a drink or lunch.
