Taloula Mango’s Caribbean Cafe – Phillipsburg, St. Maarten

This is a nice restaurant/bar on the boardwalk in Phillipsburg.  Luckily we were downtown when no cruise ships were in port.  Quiet but nice.  We checked out the shops on Front Street and Back Street, and also had a Guavaberry Punch from the Guavaberry Emporium.  Nice sunny hot day so when we arrived at Talouls Mango, we ordered a bucket of beers.  They have buckets of 5 beers for $6.  We ended up getting some Red Stripes and Desperados.  I didn’t realize the Desperado was a wine cooler so probably should have stuck with just Red Stripes.  All good and refreshing though.  We order gouda cheese sticks, falafel, conch fritters and a pizza with bacon, goat cheese and carmelized onions.  Food was very good and the view of the bay is excellent.  I am sure this would be a great spot to people watch if the boardwalk was loaded with tourists.  Here is the website link if you want more info on this spot.  http://www.taloulamango.com/
