I was traveling in Germany after Easter and ended with an evening in Wiesbaden because it is not far from Frankfurt Airport (since I was departing back to the US the next day).  I have been to Wiesbaden several times but have never been to this brewery.  I was supposed to meet a colleague in Wiesbaden, actually at this brewery but he was sick so had to go solo.  He was trying to get tickets for Belgian beer tasting at a different bar in Wiesbaden.  I tried to order the 6 beer sampler at Andech’s (shown in the menu above) but apparently they don’t do that any more.  I did purchase 3 different “Hell” beers and have noted my ratings below.  Pretty standard German fair.

I also ordered the Hax’n salat which is basically deep fried pork hock (pulled off the bone) and placed on a salad.  It was great.  I love “deep fried pork knuckles” as they say in Germany.  This cellar brewery located in a Monasterey was really good.  Good food, decent beer, and located right in the city center of Wiesbaden.  Check it out if you are ever in Wiesbaden.  Wiesbaden is a popular area for local US military personnel so you will probably hear more English when you are out and about than in other areas of Germany.  Here is their website: http://andechs.de/en/brewery/
