Not the best pictures but a great spot in Newport News, VA. It was happy hour so they had a local Vodka called Beringei from Silverback Distillery on sale for $4 so I started with a Bloody Mary and ordered the buffalo oysters with a side of hush puppies and apple slaw. The buffalo oysters were very good. I love raw oysters but had to try the fried oysters with buffalo sauce and blue cheese. Glad I did. I did some research on the Vodka (because it was pretty good even though it was in a BM). It is a local Virginia vodka distilled by Silverback Distillery in Afton, VA. Their website says “Beringei is the scientific name shared by all Mountain and Eastern Lowland Gorillas. We are proud to craft an American Vodka from pure mountain water and quality winter wheat grain”. I then switched to Alpine Beer Company’s Pure Hoppiness (2016). Wow, this was a great DIPA that I rated a 4.0 on Untapp’d. Harpoon Larry’s has a decent draft beer list and great food. Check them out the next time you are in Newport News. https://harpoonlarrys.com/
