I was in Newport News, VA this week and haven’t visited this area in several years. I did the usual check of local craft beer places and two places within a 10 minute drive popped up. First was Craft 60 Ale House and the other was Tradition Brewing Co. (to be noted in another post). Craft 60 is a small bar that has 16 beers on draft, 16 craft bottles on clearance with special prices, and 60 “out of towner” bottles that include some well known beers and some special hard to get beers. I tried a couple local beers (reference Untapp’d checkins’ below).
I just sat at the bar as I like to do and the bartender Michael was very friendly. I ordered the “Dharma wings” which were breaded/fried portabella mushrooms with hot sauce. Surprisingly very good. I also ordered a chopped blue cheese sale which was also very good (going low carb – except for the beers of course). Definitely check this place out if you are in the area.
