The Hub Bar is located downtown Tampa on Franklin Street near the historic Tampa Theater. The Hub is one of our favorite Tampa dive bars. They only take cash but you definitely get your money’s worth with generous pours and great beer prices. They have a fully stocked bar because they also own the attached liquor store (they do take credit cards there). It is air conditioned of course and since they don’t serve food you can smoke inside. They have two foosball tables, arcade games and a jukebox and space for entertainment. The staff are great and there are always regulars in there when we visit. We love sitting at the bar. We have seen everything from screamer rock bands to acoustic. They also have ice in the men’s urinals which is a flashback to bars in the 70’s/80’s. This reduces the smell and helps drain for non-flushable urinals. Probably too much info there. “Sex Ed” with Haley Joel Osment has some scenes from the Hub since it was filmed in Tampa.
