UPDATE OCT 2017: New World had to shut down their Ybor location because it was a leased facility and the facility was sold for a new development project in Ybor.  New World will be setting up a new facility in Seminole Heights in 2018.  I will have a new post once this new facility is open.

One of my favorite spots in Tampa.  Located in Ybor City which is a historic “cigar” area founded by Italian, Cuban and Spanish immigrants in the late 1800’s.  New World Brewery was a brewery long ago but now it serves some of the best craft beer in town.  They have a great draft and bottle selection including a great Belgian beer selection.  They are also the spot to watch indie bands on the weekends and also have a great barbecue lunch during the week.  Their standard menu includes pizza, hummus platter, and wings.  Their courtyard is shaded and offers a nice cool spot to relax on those hot steamy Tampa summer days.  The staff will help you find a beer that suits your taste.  We love Dean, Joann, Jen, Chris and all the servers at New World.  We have never had a bad experience.  It is located at 1313 8th Avenue, Tampa, FL (http://www.newworldbrewery.net).  We are only about a 20 minute drive away and it is our favorite spot after work on FRI or during the day on SUN.  The day I took these pictures, I had two Florida beers.

One was the Motorworks Roll Cage Red Ale.  It was a hoppy red ale which was very nice a crisp and not as sweet as a typical red ale.  I rated it a 3.5/5.0 on Untapp’d.  You can find out more at http://motorworksbrewing.com.  They are located in Bradenton, FL (not far away) so I will check in another post in the future once I visit their tasting room.  The other beer I had is from a new brewery in Tampa called Coppertail Brewing Co.  I have not been there yet because it just opened (across from IKEA).  I had their Free Dive IPA and was very impressed.  I rated it a 4.0/5.0 on Untapp’d.  Very nice California style IPA.  For a new brewery this is a fantastic beer and I would have to say this will be their flagship.http://coppertailbrewing.com.
