Deacon Brodies Tavern – Edinburgh, Scotland

Deacon Brodies Tavern is located on the Royal Mile in Edinburgh, Scotland and was one of the first pubs we visited in Edinburgh.  The tavern is more about the story of Deacon Brodie who was a locksmith by day and used his daytime trade to be a burglar at night to pay for his gambling and mistresses.  He was caught and hanged in 1788 and was the inspiration for Robert Louis Stevenson’s novel Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde.  We had a couple local Edinburgh craft beers and enjoyed the very decorative pub.  Check it out if you are on the  Royal Mile in Edinburgh  You can find more info here: http://www.scotlandspubsandbars.co.uk/location/deacon-brodies-tavern/
