We were recently in Detroit and spent the night at the new Element hotel downtown and got the chance to check out some great downtown Detroit bars. One of the bars we visited was the Jolly Pumpkin Pizzeria & Brewery in Midtown. We took a short Uber ride from the downtown area to check out this spot. We have been to the Jolly Pumpkin in Grand Rapids, MI before so was excited to see the Detroit location offers a similar atmosphere, food menu and several craft beer options. We just had one beer because we had several stops to make that night but I would definitely go back to try some more beer and have some food. We also tried the “Bronx Bar” which was within walking distance from the Jolly Pumpkin. The Bronx Bar is more of a “dive bar” but also a good spot to try out. The Hop Cat brewpub is also very close to the Jolly Pumpkin so you could try several spots in the area.
