The Porterhouse Brewing Co. is a brewpub located in the Temple area of Dublin. This was the only brewery I could find in Dublin (besides Guinness of course). The bar opened in 1989 as a craft beer bar importing various beers from around the world and then they became Ireland’s first brewpub in 1996. According to their website, in 1999 they also opened a Porterhouse in Covent Garden, London and also have a franchise bar (Fraunces Tavern) in New York.
The Porterhouse in Dublin had 10 of their draft beers on tap and several bottle beers giving them probably one of the best craft beer selections in Dublin. I had the Porterhouse IPA and was very pleased with the hop flavor. They had some musician’s playing while we were there and I really liked the space. I will definitely go back and can’t wait to try more of their beers. They have an Oyster Stout that looked really good. Check out their website for more info: http://www.theporterhouse.ie/
