Rock Brothers Brewing is a great new addition to Ybor. It is a craft beer and music venue that recently opened on the corner of 8th and 15th. My wife and I stopped while walking down 8th from Muvico in Centro Ybor to New World Brewery on a SUN afternoon. The space is a old brick Ybor building that was professionally renovated showing lots of exposed brick and custom steel features. I really liked the design especially the ceiling of vintage speakers (still under construction). Nice casual place to hang out with a full bar and several of their craft beers on draft. I had their Rebelution IPA which was really good and my wife had the a Hootie’s Homegrown Ale which was a nice light blonde ale. I took some pictures of the place and met Kevin Lilly the founder of Rock Brothers. He showed us the “Attic” music venue located upstairs which has its own separate bar. Rock Brothers originally collaborated with Cigar City brewing in Tampa to craft their beers but will soon have their own brewery set-up on-site. Rock Brothers has six beers inspired by different artists as detailed on their “Artists page”. These are also detailed below:
- JJ Grey & Mofro – Nare Sugar Brown
- Hootie and the Blowfish – Hootie’s Home Grown Ale
- Have Gun Will Travel – High Road Ale
- Umphrey’s McGee – Nothing too Fancy Pale Ale
- 311 – 311 Amber Ale
- Rebelution – Rebelution IPA
This place is still a work in progress with the addition of the brewery but it is a great place to pop in for a craft beer, cocktail, or to see a great rock band. Their neighbors the Ybor Spa has had two significant fires in the last week that luckily did not spread to Rock Brothers. Always great to have a good new spot to drink craft beer and listen to music in Ybor. I am sure we will be back very soon. Check out their website for more info. https://rockbrothersbrewing.com/
