I was lucky to have a business trip to Santa Rosa, CA so got the opportunity to visit Russian River Brewing. I stayed at the Hyatt Vineland Creek so it was an easy walk to the brewery. It was a SUN so they were pretty busy because they have a great all day happy hour. Pints are $3.75 which is great. I was traveling with some German colleagues and we tried to visit at about 6pm but there was a line outside. We decided to go to dinner and then I went back at about 8:30pm and actually found a spot at the bar. I have had Russian River’s Pliny the Elder on draft at a pub in southern California before but having it at the brewery (and for $3.75) was pretty special. Pliny the Elder is rated 100 on Beer Advocate and Rate Beer. It is a DIPA and is delicious. Before the Pliny I had a Hop 2 It which was a nice citrus IPA that was 6.3% ABV but drank like a session. These guys know how to make beer. I just had two pints and didn’t have any food but the food looked good. Check out this great brewery if you are every in Santa Rosa. http://russianriverbrewing.com/
