The last time I was in Winnipeg was DEC of last year and it was cold and snowy. This time it was almost as hot as Tampa. I did some research before this trip to see where I should drink/eat. They are starting to get some craft beer places in Winnipeg and I visited Half Pints brewery last DEC. They have by far the best beer in town the Lil Scrapper IPA. Most other places, like Rudy’s Eat and Drink have several taps (20 I think) but mostly the usual US and Canadian staples. I did catch Happy Hour for 1 beer and got the Rudy’s Blonde C$4 for a pint. Pretty below average beer (I rated it a 2.25 on Untapp’d). I had a bacon blue cheese burger which was pretty good. I was sitting between two really drunk patrons who obviously got there early for happy hour so I didn’t stick around very long. The venue does have a nice outside patio and is around the corner from the MTS Centre (Hockey/concerts). Check out their website for more info: http://www.rudyseatanddrink.com/home
