If you are looking for a great spot for craft beer and you have a wine drinker with you, this is a great spot. They have 25 draft beers, 350 bottles and over 100 domestic and international wines (60 of which you can purchase by the glass). They are located on Ashley Drive in the bottom of the SkyPoint Condo building directly across from Curtis Hixon Park and Glazer Children’s museum. We have been coming to Taps for several years and it is a great spot to go to before a play at the Straz or if you are just hanging out downtown. When we are in this area, we usually combine with a trip to the Fly Bar (which is only 0.3 miles – 7 minute walk). Taps has an outdoor patio that is pet friendly (at least it does have pets at times). They have a daily happy hour from 4-7pm with $1 off drafts and $5 appetizers. I have had the nachos, meatball bruschetta, bacon wrapped jalapeno poppers, and in the past they used to have a gyro sandwich (but didn’t see it on the recent menu). Their food is great. It is noted on their website as American Tapas with appetizers, salads, sandwiches and desserts. Check it out the next time you are near Curtis Hixon or the theater area.
