I grew up in Sandusky, MI in the “Thumb” area about 1.5hrs north of Detroit. My brother still lives in the area and I also have other family in the area (aunts, uncles, cousins, etc.). We have a place in Port Austin, MI (about 45 mins from Sandusky) and we are staying at our place in July to get away from the heat of Tampa and to spend time with family and friends in MI. We came to Sandusky on a FRI to meet up with my brother and his family to have a few beers at Elk Street Brewery. Nice to see a brewery in Sandusky. We got the 9 beer sampler so that I could try all their beers. The beers were decent and the space is really nice. Tin ceiling, brick walls, nice atmosphere. They just purchased the building next store and are opening a chop house. It will be nice to be able to get a good steak in Sandusky while drinking some craft beer.
