Thumb Brewery is a new Brew Pub located in Caseville, MI. Caseville is about 15 minutes from our vacation place in Port Austin, MI. I heard they had a new brewery (only one in town) and had to check it out. I guess they opened May 2014 but we didn’t get a chance to check it out last year. It is located in an old house on Pine St. downtown just off the main drag in downtown Caseville.
We just stopped in for a couple of beers. Marnie had the Oatmeal Stout which is one of their flagship beers. I had a taste and that beer was pretty good. I had the Gateway IPA which is noted as “lightly hopped” and was only at 28 IBU’s which is kind of strange. It was pretty light even for a Pale. I wanted to start with their Sunset Pale but they did not have this on draft.
We need to try this spot again because the service was kind of slow (they were talking amongst themselves while we were standing at the bar waiting for service and they weren’t busy). We were going to eat dinner there but the Yelp reviews were horrible. They do have a number of other craft beer taps so if you are in Caseville, this is a great spot to drink draft craft beer. They have a large outside sitting area and the inside is very homey. Check them out the next time you are in Caseville, MI at www.thumbbrewery.com . If you are looking for a vacation rental, check out www.sandy-spring.com which is my vacation rental that is only 15 minutes away.
